The ability to make ones own fishing rods and lead weights, as well as other fishing gears such as lure and jigs helps to save up on a lot of money from going out of ones own pocket.
Another one very important fishing aid is the fish cleaning table, which are of utmost necessity in the fishing marinas and other docks. The purpose of having fish cleaning tables is to enable the customers with the opportunity to get a convenient place where they can clean their fishes. The fish cleaning tables even provide the boaters with an appropriate place to congregate after getting a good catch.
Therefore there can be no doubt that these fish cleaning tables have high promotional value, and by placing a banner or display near these tables can actually escalate the total advertising effectiveness. Putting them near the dock tackle store or using charter boat tickets is also a good sales idea.
The fish cleaning tables can actually be made by one on their own as per their personal preferences; this really helps to make it more cost effective as well as suited to its owner’s specific needs.
Some requirements for building a fish cleaning table yourself are:
- 4'x2' heavy-duty plastic cutting board.
- 4'x2' piece press board.
- Portable folding poker t.able
- Epoxy wood glue.
- Jigsaw.
- 12 low-profile nuts and bolts (long enough to permeate both the cutting board and the press board for tightening).
- Drill (with bit the same size as bolts).
- Fine file.
- 32mm flat wood drill bit.
- 6 cinderblocks.
Methods to follow for making a fish cleaning table:
- The plastic board should first be cut to the desired size and shape. The glue should then be applied at the bottom most part. After this, the cutting board should be placed on top of the press board and left to dry under the pressure of the cinderblocks for at least a day.
- After it has completely dried, the cinderblocks should be removed and twelve evenly spaced holes should be made on the board itself. The edges of the holes should be filed so as to smooth any probable rough edges. Having holes in the fish cleaning tables allows the waste to run out, thereby making the clean up process less messy.
- After this two slots should be cut on the far edge of the table for holding the knives which are to be used for cleaning the fishes.
